Baba Indaba, wins EXSA best consumer Expo for Sandton Expo 2012.

Following our awards in this category in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 as well as The Top Woman award for gender empowerment in the SMME category in 2010 Baba Indaba has kept up the good work by winning the 2012 EXSA awards for the best consumer expo in the category 3,000-6,000 m2).

In Addition to this award Three City Events also picked up the Best Consumer expo for Go Glamour in Cape Town and best Trade and consumer award for The Green Expo in Sandton. We were also awarded the EXSA award for "The Greenest Expo"

Our heartfelt thanks go to all of our suppliers, exhibitors, visitors and all those who helped us and share in the achievement of these accolades over the years.

Now lets get into 2013 and make it even better.

Green Energy for Baba Indaba Expos

Running a green exhibition still quite unusual, although many are really making great strides to hosting a carbon neutral event. We have been making steady progress in this area and have recently implemented an innovative solution for each of our exhibitors to obtain individual renewable energy certificates for their stands at Baba Indaba. A renewable energy certificate

is proof that the energy used by that stand is generated by renewable energy sources. In this case by solar energy in Lesotho.

In addition to this we ensure that electricity consumption is kept to a minimum thereby reducing the carbon emissions attributable to the show.

In 2009 Baba Indaba Introduced two new awards with the aim of promoting two areas that we are passionate about, sustainability and design.

To date the "Green Award" has been won by CADA Kids for Neat Seat, Clever Little Monkey for their X-board furniture and Pumpkin Patch at the Sandton expo for their range of bamboo fabric clothing. 2010 winners Baby Throne reduce environmental damage with reduced or no nappy usage and CuddleDry for their lovely towels for toddlers made with silky bamboo and organic cotton.

Our latest winners at Sandton 2010 are Little Organic, and Gelli Baff for their great environmentally friendly bath gel.

Thrice daily the real Takalani Sesame characters will be on stage with their shows. Fashion shows for maternity wear and baby clothing provide further entertainment while a huge variety of baby goods, baby products, nursery furnishings, prams, nutritional and medical products satisfy the retail demand. Other favourite cartoon characters will also be around to amuse and entertain the kids. Attending a Baba Indaba baby expo will be a rewarding experience for both visitors and exhibitors.
