Every day at the Fetal Assessment Centre at Chris Hani Baragwanath  Hospital in Soweto, makes me realize how much we all need to enjoy what we have in life. And with that, not just the material things, but the truly valuable things like our healthy children, our families and friends and our time together.

For myself and Heidi it is important to spend time at Barra to first of all learn the most we can from the best trained specialists in the field. Thanks to Prof Nicoloau, Dr. J. Jeebohd, and Dr. I Erasmus. You inspire us to excel and be the best we can: every day and in every situation.

I could also not omit mentioning the darling nursing staff at the assessment centre. The importance of team work in a unit cannot be stressed enough. Together we are better!

Our time spent at Barra is also about investing in the community. Some patients borrow money to get a taxi to Barra, only to wait in endlessly long queues (sometimes a whole day!). I want them to be treated with humanity and humility and to provide the highest quality health care that we can provide.
